ACCOMODATION DETAILS

The house is a renovation and conversion of part of a 17th century building that was originally designed to be the entrance to a Cour d'Honour.  In the middle of the 19th century it was converted into a stable block with accomodation above.  In 2002 we bought half the stable block and converted it into 3 floors of living accomodation.

Please note: Chateau La Trousse is not a holiday resort. It is a privately owned estate (owned jointly by 34 families) the majority of homes are used exclusively by the owners - our house is one of only 10 available to rent. The Owners have created a family friendly environment ideal to rest, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the estate. Renters are made to feel welcome and in return we ask that you respect the aims of the ownership while you enjoy your holiday at the estate.

Our neighbour has other properties available to rent within the Cour with 1,2 and 4 bedrooms. Please contact us and we can send you photographs of the accomodation you would be renting, inform you of  rates and availability and arrange the booking for you.

THE HOUSE - is part of a courtyard (Cour) of buildings in the front garden area of the Chateau Estate. The front of the house looks straight across to the Orangerie building. To the left is the Moat, now dry and grassed, with it’s stone work bridge and 4 sleeping lions and beyond the Moat is the Chateau. To the right are the tall elaborate iron gates and beyond those is the tree lined entrance drive. At the back of the house is a large, shared cobble stone courtyard with potted evergreen plants and red geraniums.
